Sound familiar?
Still not sure where your IR35 position actually stands?
A lot of IT contractors operate through a limited company without a clear view of their IR35 exposure, their dividend position, or what the tax bill is likely to be at year-end. Some are with an accountant who files the returns but never picks up the phone. Others have been managing it themselves and know the books need attention. Neither situation is a disaster — but neither is particularly comfortable either.
- No clear answer on IR35 status — and contracts keep changing
- Dividend and salary split not optimised, so you are paying more tax than necessary
- Year-end arrives without warning and the books are not where they need to be
What sorted looks like for a contractor
IR35 reviewed before it becomes a problem. Salary and dividend split calculated correctly for your structure. Books kept current in Xero throughout the year so year-end is not an event.
- IR35 position reviewed on each contract — documented, not guessed
- Tax-efficient salary and dividend structure agreed at the start of each tax year
- Bookkeeping current in Xero so year-end figures are ready when needed
- Fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts — no surprises
What IT contractors say about working with us
Contractors value being able to reach their accountant quickly when a contract decision needs input. These are two examples from verified Google reviews.

What the fixed fee covers for contractors
Most IT contractors operating through a limited company need a small bundle of compliance work done well and filed on time. This is what is included as standard.
IR35 and Contractor Compliance
Each contract is reviewed for IR35 status before you sign, with a written determination kept on file. If HMRC ever asks, there is a documented basis for the position taken — not a retrospective guess. Ongoing support if your contract or working arrangements change mid-engagement.
Included as standardLimited Company Accounts and Corporation Tax
Year-end accounts and Corporation Tax filing handled end to end, with figures ready well before the deadline. You will know your tax liability months in advance, not the week the bill arrives. Salary and dividend split reviewed each year as part of the process.
Fixed fee, scoped to turnoverBookkeeping, VAT, and Self-Assessment
Day-to-day bookkeeping managed in Xero, VAT returns submitted quarterly under MTD, and your director Self-Assessment filed before the January deadline. If you cross the VAT threshold mid-year, it is caught before registration becomes an obligation you were not expecting.
All included or clearly pricedConsistent feedback across different services

What makes this practice different for contractors
There are plenty of accountants who will file a contractor’s returns. Fewer who will review IR35 before a contract is signed, or answer a WhatsApp at 6pm when the decision cannot wait until Monday.
IR35 reviewed before you sign
IR35 status is assessed at the contract stage, not retrofitted after the fact. Each determination is documented and kept on file. If your working arrangements change, the position is revisited — there is no set-and-forget approach to a risk that is specific to each engagement.
Available when contractors actually call
Most contract decisions do not wait for 9am on a Tuesday. Joey is reachable by phone, WhatsApp, or email from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday — and often Sundays when something urgent comes in. Same-day reply is the standard, not a headline figure that applies occasionally.
Fixed fee, no billing surprises
The fee is scoped to the size and complexity of your company and agreed in writing before any work starts. A quick question about a contract clause does not generate an invoice. No hourly billing, no charges for picking up the phone.
Up and running in four steps
Switching accountants is less effort than it sounds. Most of the work in the handover is done on this end.
Free initial chat
Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp, or via the booking form. The conversation covers your current setup — inside or outside IR35, whether you have an existing company, what is filed and what is not. No pressure, no upsell.
Fixed quote in writing
After the chat you will receive a fixed fee proposal scoped to your company size and the services in scope. No hourly rates, no ambiguous estimates. You know what it costs before agreeing to anything.
We handle the switch
Xero is set up, your previous accountant is contacted, HMRC authorisations are updated. You sign one form. The transfer and any catch-up work required is handled from this end.
Books current, IR35 covered
From that point, bookkeeping stays current in Xero, returns are filed on time, and each new contract gets an IR35 review before you sign it. Joey is reachable directly whenever you need him — no account manager in the way.
“Always on hand to answer any questions throughout.”
A few things contractors usually ask
Do you actually understand IR35, or is it something you look up when it comes up?
Contractor accounting and IR35 compliance is a core part of what this practice does — not an occasional request. Status reviews cover the nature of the engagement, substitution rights, control, and mutuality of obligation, and the determination is documented in writing. If a contract is borderline, that is explained clearly rather than papered over.
What does the fee include and how is it worked out?
Pricing is fixed and scoped to the size and complexity of your company — turnover, whether VAT applies, whether you have employees on payroll, and which services are in scope. The fee is agreed in writing before any work starts. There is no hourly billing and no charge for routine questions. The quote after an initial call will set out exactly what is included.
My books are behind and I have not filed everything I should have. Is that a problem?
It is not unusual. Contractors who have been managing things themselves, or who have switched accountants mid-year, often arrive with records that need attention. The catch-up work required is scoped and costed as part of the initial quote so there are no surprises. The priority is getting everything current and compliant before looking forward.
Is there a minimum contract or a penalty for leaving?
No minimum contract and no exit fee. If things are not working after a few months, you leave with your records in order and nothing owed beyond the work completed. The practice retains around 90% of clients — not because leaving is difficult, but because the service tends to work.
Can you help if I work both inside and outside IR35 across different contracts?
Yes. Some contractors hold a mix of engagements simultaneously — one inside IR35 through an agency umbrella arrangement, another outside as a personal service company. The tax implications of running both are different and need to be managed carefully. Each contract is reviewed on its own terms and the overall tax position is planned accordingly.
When will I know what my tax bill is going to be this year?
As a rule, well before the deadline. With bookkeeping kept current in Xero throughout the year, the Corporation Tax liability and any personal tax due on dividends are visible on an ongoing basis — not calculated in a rush in January. Tax planning is done at the start of the year so the salary and dividend split is set before distributions are taken, not corrected after the fact.
